JOB TITLE: Japanese Language Teacher

Key Areas of Responsibility:
To actively promote the School’s mission and vision in a professional manner, reacting positively and collaboratively to the challenge of providing the highest standards of teaching and learning to all students. All staff are expected to actively promote the wellbeing of all students and uphold safeguarding and child protection procedures within school. This job description is supported by the following six standards:

3. Demonstrate confident subject knowledge, plan and deliver the curriculum effectively for student
learning.

and how successful they are.
6. Develop as a professional educator, supporting oneself and colleagues in a manner in keeping
with the philosophy and the values of the School.

Specific Duties:
- Plan and teach Japanese units of learning and deliver individual lessons at designated levels, across all primary age groups, Year 1 and Year 6
- Provide weekly cover for coordinator release time as designated on the timetable
- Provide weekly supervision according to the duty schedule
- Participate in whole school and phase meetings

We are looking for a Japanese language teacher who has:
- An understanding of the opportunities and challenges of teaching in an international school
- Experience of teaching Japanese language to primary aged learners (elementary)
- High levels of enthusiasm and commitment to the learning process
- The ability to work well as part of a team but to also be self motivated and proactive
- Strong English language skills (business level)
