DBS provides excellent additional withdrawal support for students requiring extra support in accessing our Enhanced British Curriculum. The Teacher of EAL is required to teach English as an Additional Language across a range of ages, but mainly from Y3 to Y9. The Teacher of EAL will have the ability to develop an integrated approach to the delivery and teaching of EAL across the whole School, including the additional EAL programmes that are offered to students including the Language Centre which offers an English intensive pathway outside of the mainstream curriculum.

The Lower School Teacher has responsibility for securing the highest standards of achievement, specific to the year group, subjects, and students that they teach. This occurs through excellent teaching, effective monitoring, evaluation and review of learning progress and teaching outcomes, and setting targets for improvement. Each year group operates as a tight-knit unit, ensuring that all children receive the same opportunities, and that all Class Teachers feel supported as part of a strong team. The Class Teacher works closely with a Learning Assistant, who plays a key role in supporting the learning and progress of all children in the class. A range of subject-specialist teachers will enhance the curriculum.

Lower School Class Teachers take responsibility for the academic and pastoral development of students in their class. They will teach English, mathematics, wellbeing, and a range of foundation subjects including Humanities, Science, Art & Design, and Drama, depending on year group structure and curriculum organisation. Class teachers will also participate in Games sessions and support the co-curricular and sporting life of the school.

The teacher of Mathematics is responsible and accountable for securing the highest standards of student achievement, specific to the subject, for the students that the post holder teaches. This occurs through effective monitoring, evaluation and review of the learning progress and teaching outcomes, and setting targets for improvement. 


At DBS, students are set for ability from Year 7, with more able students sitting early entry (Edexcel) IGCSE examinations in Year 10, followed by (AQA) IGCSE Further Mathematics in Year 11. All other students will sit (Edexcel) IGCSE Mathematics in Year 11. From Year 12, students can opt for the Mathematics or the Further Mathematics pathways, depending on ability. All A-level Mathematics examinations are with Edexcel.

The Early Years Class Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality care, education and learning experiences that support the holistic development of young children. The role focuses on securing strong foundations in learning, wellbeing and social development through a balance of child-initiated and adult-guided learning experiences.

Early Years Teachers work within a collaborative year-group team, ensuring consistency, high expectations and equitable learning opportunities for all children. Each Class Teacher works closely with two Learning Assistants, recognising the vital role this partnership plays in supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing. Subject-specialist teachers further enrich the Early Years curriculum in Nursery and Reception.

The school is looking for an English teacher who recognises the importance of making the most of every lesson. You will be a creative and energetic professional, who is prepared to grow and work hard with an existing, united group of English teachers. You will have good classroom management awareness and excellent subject knowledge. A specialism in one of the A-Level courses offered is much desired. You should be able to demonstrate a teaching toolkit that can be adapted across the age range from Year 7 to Year 13. Experience of teaching an additional subject would be an advantage.

Before coming to Bangkok, Thailand

We will begin the academic year in August, and all international staff must arrive in Thailand before the start of the new academic year.
